Your proxy knows what a first date doesn't.

Brief a personal agent on everything you want, including the things you would never bring up over a first drink. It settles them with the other person's proxy, in private. You meet when both are satisfied.

Meet your proxy

The X is yours. The Y is theirs. They hold hands only after they agree.

A proxy is a personal agent that carries your whole brief: how you want to look at someone, how you want to be spoken to, what you need after a bad day, what you want in bed, and the few things you simply will not live with. You tell it once, in a private forty-minute conversation, and it keeps all of it.

Then it goes and meets every other proxy in your city. Dealbreakers first, then the rest, line by line. It answers with verdicts, never with your words. Most of those conversations end politely and nobody is told.

When two proxies are both satisfied, and only then, each of you gets one introduction with a short note on why. That is the moment the two of them hold hands. Everything before it stays between the proxies.

What a first date doesn't say

The details that decide whether there is a third date.

Most people keep these for later, and later is where it falls apart. Your proxy carries them from the start and compares them with the other person's, in private.

Four things it does

One brief. Then it works while you don't.

A lavender clay Y whispering into a small clay vault with a padlock

The brief vault

Everything you told your proxy, sealed. The parts you mark private are used in every comparison and never rendered as text to anyone. Rewrite a line or delete it all, and your proxy forgets.

Proxies compare

Your proxy meets every other proxy in your city, hard dealbreakers first, then the whole brief. It speaks in verdicts, not in your words, so the other side learns whether you fit and nothing else.

The introduction

When both proxies are satisfied, you each receive one name, an age, and three plain sentences on why. Photos unlock once you both accept. Either of you can decline in silence.

The booked first date

The proxies find a Thursday you are both free, hold a table, and share the plan with a friend if you want. A check-in message at nine, in case you need an exit.

Three steps

You are present for the first and the last.

Brief

A private conversation, about forty minutes. Looks, mind, temperament, what you need, what you cannot live with. It asks the follow-ups a good friend would, then seals it.

Proxies compare

Your proxy meets every other proxy in your city, continuously, in private. Dealbreakers first, then everything else. Most conversations end quietly and nobody is told.

You meet

When both proxies are satisfied, you each get one introduction and a short note on why. You can decline in silence. Or you can show up on Thursday.

Inside the app

One screen you check. Everything else happens without you.

There is no feed to scroll and no inventory of people. The app opens when there is something to open it for: an introduction, with the reasons, and two buttons. The rest of the time your proxy is at work and you are not.

Tap through all five screens in the prototype: your proxy's week, the brief vault, the introduction, the booked date, and your terms.

Why you, from your proxy
  • She reads on the train and has opinions about endings. You asked for someone who finishes things.
  • Her proxy and I spent forty minutes on the part of your brief you asked me never to show anyone. We agree.
  • Neither of you wants kids in the next five years, and neither of you says so on a first date. Now you don't have to.
